After you finish the film, you're terrified

“Distribution is always the hardest part.”

It's not when you wrap. It's not when you finish the edit. It's the moment you realize you need to get eyeballs on this thing. Whether it's online or in person, distribution is always the hardest part. Why is it that I always forget this?

You spend months making something. Maybe years. And then one day you're done and the real work starts. Nobody prepares you for that part. The creative high wears off and suddenly you're sending emails, booking venues, and trying to figure out how to actually get people in a room.

The Wilted Flower premieres March 11 at The Music Box Theatre in Chicago. It's a one night only event. So what happens to the film after that? Distribution is so broken. To be honest, the only audience I care about is you.

This is why I'm building an anthology of short films about inheritance. I'm not waiting around for someone to give me the invite. I'm making these films and bringing them directly to you.

If you're in Chicago on March 11, I would love for you to join. We have to build this thing together.
